Nolans Road

Nolans Road certified organic* extra virgin olive oil has won an enthusiastic following among leading chefs and food writers.  It is now available at the Mount Gambier Farmers Market on the first Saturday of every month.  Dee Nolan’s olive groves are at Hynam, near Naracoorte.  Her oil    takes its name from the country lane that winds through a canopy of magnificent river red gums    by the groves. Stephanie Alexander recently nominated Nolans Road as one of her favourite    extra virgin olive oils.  Nolans Road also features in a Nigella Lawson cook book. In December  2012 Nolans Road  was  awarded two major awards in the A.NZ.SA.Olive Oil Awards    2012.  As well as extra virgin olive oil, Dee also sells new-season locally-grown certified organic  Kabuli Chickpeas and Matilda Lentils along with other seasonally grown produce from her garden.

Amblemead Produce

Market stall

James started Amblemead Produce because  he and his wife Lesley are passionate about growing heirloom seasonal vegetables. All their vegetables and herbs are grown from heirloom seed which is then harvested and propagated by James for the next seasonal crop. They only use best practice methods of weed/pest control and organic fertilizer. Their stall promises to offer something different each week. Their aim in the future is to introduce aquaponics as well their field grown and hydroponic produce.

Kalangadoo Organic

Michelle and Chris McColl have been growing certified organic apples at Kalangadoo for the past 13 years.  Their apples are truly fresh, picked within 24 hours of the market from February to June.

Over 30 varieties of apples are grown, including many old heritage varieties. They also make apple juice, apple cider vinegar and dried apple.

Organic peaches are available in January and early February and other fruit seasonally through the year.

They have  started a small organic free range chook  enterprise in their orchard and have begun selling these eggs at the Mount Gambier Farmers Market.

A recently purchased stone flour mill is also at their stall grinding certified organic grain grown in the Limestone Coast. *NASAA Certified Organic 5202

Gala’s Middle Eastern Delights

Gala's Delights2

Gala’s delights are from the heart of   Kurdistan, a region stretching from north-east Turkey across to northern

of Iraq and northern Iran. It is on this basis that Middle Eastern cooking has evolved over several thousand of years, a diet based on simple, natural foods; meats, fish, poultry, less refined cereals, pulses, vegetable oils, vegetables, fruit, nuts, yoghurt and cheese these along with herbs and spices.
